State Pages |
|
|
  |
This page acts as a
"reference center" for information on the selected state.
In the left hand
column of the state page is an index of information on the state
selected. Each state page may look and operate a little differently
depending on the information available, however, each state page will have an index to the official state and local governments
web sites
and an index to other web sites such as state business
organizations, libraries, or law firms.
saltref contains three kinds of information:
original/compiled information; information supplied by others, and links to information
on the www. Links will be
underlined (in dark blue) as a text
link or will be marked marked
with either a weblink icon
, a pagelink icon
or a
filelink icon in Microsoft format
or Adobe format
.
Clicking an underlined text link
will usually display the information requested on the same page,
clicking on the pagelink icon will open a page in this website with
additional information, clicking on a filelink will open a document
within this web site and clicking on the weblink icon will link to
the world wide web (www) in a new page. Information requested may
open in this iframe or a window. See
below on how pages open.
In addition, individuals may be marked with an email icon
or
a bio icon
. Clicking
on the email icon should generate an email to the designated person
and clicking on the bio or documents icons will link to respective information.
Please report links that do not work by clicking on the nearest broken link
icon
.
To return to this
instructions page at any time click on the
button in the masthead or index. If a link takes you away from
this page, you can return to this state page by selecting this state again
from the home page
or
or from the map of the states. These
instructions can be printed by clicking on the printer icon
in the corners of this page.

The
"State Pages" are under development.
They are not
all inclusive ... the information listed is for design and illustration
purposes. Additional information and links will be added as this site develops.

email and attach the information or give me the
url to link.

Pages in saltref.com open in three different methods.
Same
Window - requested pages open in the "existing window" i.e.,
replacing the current page with the requested page. This is the
most common method of browsing the internet. The user can
view the previous page by clicking on the
Back button and
the next page by clicking on the Forward
button.
In this method the
requested page replaces the current page, and the information on the
current page is no longer viewable i.e., two pages cannot be
seen side by side.
New Window - some pages open in
"new windows" leaving the current page open. The benefit of the
requested page opening in a new widow is that the viewer can see two
pages side by side or switch between pages (for contrast/comparison) without
having to reload a page. In saltref.com state pages open in new
windows by clicking on flags such as
and in same windows by
clicking on names such as California.
Inline Frames
(iframes) - certain pages in saltref.com open in frames of the
existing window e.g., this document is in an iframe. When new information is requested, the
parent page does
not reload ... only the content of the iframe changes with the
requested information.
